Look at the list of possible problems before/during a presentation. What would you do in each situation? Discuss your answers with other students.

• You are just about to start your presentation. You are feeling so nervous that your heart is beating fast, your stomach is churning and you even feel that you cannot talk.
• You spill coffee on your suit/skirt just as you are about to start your presentation.
• You realize you have forgotten to bring your notes.
• The person introducing you mispronounces your name.
• You tell a joke as an icebreaker and nobody laughs.
• The microphone does not work.
• Several people in the audience are yawning or getting up to get some coffee.
• A person in the audience keeps interrupting the presentation with questions and comments.
